DEEPINGS TRADING NETS KIT FOR LOCAL CLUB SPONSORSHIP

A new builders' merchant based in Market Deeping near Peterborough is marking its commitment to the local community by sponsoring a successful local netball club.

The Deepings Trading Company based on the Spitfire Park industrial estate, Northfield Road, is sponsoring new kit for the under-16 and under-14 teams of Blaze Netball.

Deepings Trading Operations Director Ian Greenfield said: "Blaze is a very successful club. We felt that the most appropriate way to mirror our success was to align ourselves with an organisation that is enjoying similar success while at the same time putting something back into the community."

Blaze Netball Club enjoyed a very successful 2007/2008 season. The U14 team, now moving up to U16 level for 2008/2009, won the Peterborough league undefeated last summer. It also won the local winter league undefeated. The team then went on to compete at county level and has just won the county tournament undefeated too. It is now set to compete at the regional tournament in Hertfordshire.

Coach Alison Mumby said: "We are delighted that The Deepings Trading Company agreed to supply our kit as part of its sponsorship. Ian has purchased top of the range Kukri kit for both our under 16 teams and our under 14 team.

"The girls are very excited about starting the new season in new kit and I would like to thank Deepings Trading for their sponsorship of Blaze Netball Club."

Coach Linda Coultrup added: "Netball is not a sport that is well recognised and often lacks sponsors, so we were thrilled when Deepings Trading took not only the time but interest in our club and its progress. We have previously sought sponsorship from other sources and not even received an acknowledgement letter. So thank you from all our club members and volunteers and we wish you well."

All England CAPS (Quality Status) registered, Blaze Netball Club draws its players from schools around Market Deeping, Bourne and Peterborough. They are all looking forward to netball being named as an official Olympic sport in time for the London Olympics in 2012 and the opportunities that could bring for them as players.

Deepings Trading works in partnership with tradesmen and developers in the Deepings and the surrounding area and aims to be a one stop shop offering a wide range of products from drainage, plumbing and building materials to bathroom suites, electrical fittings and timber.

Ian Greenfield said: "We feel strongly that there is a niche market in the Deepings and surrounding areas for a quality builders' merchant which can work in partnership with developers, subcontractors and tradesmen to help them become more cost effective. We can achieve this by providing them with a combination of a central location, commitment to stock, clear and consistent pricing and a flexible approach to their needs."
